Experience Matters

Grandmaster Lǐ Wèidōng was born in 1944 in Cuandixia Village (爨底下村), near Beijing,China. From an early age, he showed interest in traditional arts, practicing painting (Guó Huà/ 國畫) and Chinese music (Zhōngguó Chuántǒng Yīnyuè / 中國傳統音樂). Concurrently, he began his apprenticeship in traditional wushu, perfecting internal and external techniques, as well as the handling of classical weapons. During the 1960s and 1970s, Lǐ Wèidōng established himself as an instructor in localacademies and participated in meetings with prominent wushu exponents in China. His focus shifted towards practical effectiveness, philosophical preservation, and the adaptation of martial arts to modern contexts.
